Commissioner Rosemary Obeid
|
Rosemary Obeid is the Director of Resource and Referral for Community Child Care Coordinating Council (4C's) of Alameda County, where she has worked since 1991. Her experience in child care resource and referral has given her a broad understanding of the issues facing families and child care providers in our community and she is regularly called upon to make presentations on local child care needs. She is currently serving a second term as the Bay Area Regional Vice President of the California Child Care Resource and Referral Network, the state-wide association of resource and referral agencies. Rosemary is also a member of the Alameda County Child Care Planning Council steering committee, and served as Chair from 2003 to 2007. In 2006 she served on the steering committee which developed the Alameda County Early Care and Education For All Plan. Since 2005 she has served on the Board of Directors of Action Alliance for Children, publisher of The Children’s Advocate/Defensor de los Niños.
Rosemary holds both a Bachelors of Science degree and a Masters of Arts degree in Child Development from the University of Texas at Austin. She has worked in the early care and education field as a teacher, director and college instructor. A resident of Alameda County since 1980, Rosemary and her family live in Fremont. She is the mother of two adult children
