Commissioner Helen Mendel lives and works in Pleasanton and is President of All Pro Promotions Company, a marketing, management,media and special events firm. As the past Chairman of the Board of the American Cancer Society, California, she was instrumental in the passage of Proposition 10, the tobacco tax initiative that funds First 5. Currently, Helen is contracted as the CEO of the Professional BusinessWomen of California (PBWC) a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing the professional and personal development of women by providing tools, resources, training, and motivation.
Helen also serves on the Executive Committee of the Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee (BASOC) the group that spearheaded the San Francisco 2012 Olympic Bid effort. She is an Honorary Life member of the American Cancer Society, California Division Board of Directors. She serves on the Advisory Committee of the East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC) and the Genard Aids Foundation. |
